What are good inexpensive sprinkling system alternatives?
We are looking at sodding and planting our backyard. Sprinkling system quotes we’ve gottn are around $4,000. I’ve seen traveling sprinklers, multi-spigot faucets with auto-timers, and other options. Do you have any experience or thoughts on these alternatives to an underground fully automated sprinkling system?
The most intensive watering will be with the plantings. This watering can be done with soaking hoses that you lay down on the soil, under the mulch.
The lawn watering can then be done with the traveling sprinklers, and they should water after the heat of the day, or before the early sun.
